A much needed update

Okay, it's now time to update the blog. The semester is officially over. I walked in graduation this week and I officially graduate from BYU and receive my diploma in August after I complete my paid internship this summer. No more class. No more papers. No more finals! Life is good. :) So... I'll update the blog.

In March the whole Gibbons family was together for the first time in two years. (Actually, the first time EVER if you consider the fact that Ryan and I got married while my sister Liz was on her mission and my sister Jenny and her family moved away before Liz came home) Jenny, Jonathan and James came to visit us in March right before my little bro Josh left on his mission. They were here for a few weeks and it was SO much fun to spend time as a family before Josh left and before my parents leave for their mission in July! Unfortunately I didn't get too many pictures while they were here, but I do have some!

The original 7 of the Gibbons Gang all together after almost two years!

Our nephew James had a blast playing with Uncle Ryan. He's so much fun!

We decided to take advantage of the fact that we were all together and we got some family pictures taken!

My brother Josh was also able to have his missionary farewell and speak in sacrament meeting while the whole family was still in town. Sadly I don't have any pictures from that day.

Ryan grew out his mustache during March! Luckily Shawcroft men don't have much trouble growing facial hair and it grew out pretty quick, so he only had it for a couple of weeks. He shaved it off a couple nights before we took our family pictures. haha

We took Josh to the MTC on March 30th! He's now been in the MTC for a few weeks and he's absolutely loving it. He is such a good example to me and will be such an amazing missionary in Oaxaca, Mexico!

Here are a few pictures from the day we took him to the MTC

 There he goes...

Ryan and I were able to go to temple square for a concert I needed to go to for one of my classes. We had a good time walking around temple square after looking at the beautiful temple. Coincidentally it was the 11-month "anniversary" of the day we got married. (That means in only 19 days it will be our 1-year anniversary - holy cow time goes by fast!)

Last weekend Ryan's family (including his mom, two sisters, and niece and nephew) came out to Utah to visit us and celebrate mine and my sister-in-law, Briana's, graduation! They stayed all weekend and we had such a fun time with them! Here are some fun pictures of our weekend with them.

Celebrating Craig's birthday at The Brick Oven!

Ryan and Alexis matched!

And finally, I graduated from BYU yesterday!! Oh my goodness, it feels SO good to be done. (Well ALMOST done.. I just have my internship left. I figured I kind of wanted my parents to be at my graduation. But, since they will be leaving at the end of June to serve as the Mission President in the Little Rock, Arkansas mission, I decided to walk in the April graduation) I can't believe how fast these last 4 years have gone. I have learned so much during my time at BYU and it is such an amazing feeling to be done!

Me and Ann Clawson, my good friend and roommate for 3 years!

 Best. Husband. EVER :)

My parents!

 My Family :)

 Hooray!

We celebrated yesterday by going out to eat at Olive Garden (yum!). Then we went back to our apartment and my parents had a graduation present for me! :)

They gave me...... A sewing machine!!  I am SO excited to put this thing to use! I took a sewing class for fun this last semester (which turned out to be fun but SO SO time consuming and STRESSFUL. But, I learned so much and can actually now say that I know how to sew!)

And here's a better picture of it that I found online. It is computerized and has 60 different stitches. There's some really fun ones! I can't wait to buy some cute fabric and start experimenting! :)

Thank you Mom and Dad! :)

There will be a lot of exciting things going on this summer. Just to name a few... we will celebrate our one-year anniversary, my parents will be leaving on their mission to Arkansas!, we will both be working full time this summer and hopefully finding time to go on some exciting summer adventures, my sister Jenny is having a precious little girl in July!, my sister-in-law Nicole is also having a precious little girl in August!, and I get to meet my brother-in-law Lynn who is coming home from his mission at the end of August! So folks, I've got plenty to blog about in the coming months, so expect some frequent blog posts! :)
